On flat roofs the PV modules should be installed with an inclination of between 28 and 32 degrees, depending on the geographic position and with a distance between the strings in order to avoid the shading. 

The distance between the strings, should be generally at least twice the height of the heighest installation point from the surface, meaning:

X >= 2h

The PV modules have the maximum output when the installation has a southern orientation. Declinations from South till  45o decrease of the output.
