Quality Management

Exel Group has been certified, since June 2000, with the Quality Management System according to the ISO 9001/2000 standard from the TÜV Quality Board with certification number 04100 21427 in the "design, development, production and after-sales service of steel irrigation pipes and their accessories, open and welding profiles, welded tubes, metallic structures, road guard rails and their accessories as well as the provision of metallization services".

Exel Group's Solar Division has been certified by TÜV Rheinland according to the IEC 61215:2005 and IEC 61730:2004 certification standards. The production process is ensured through a particularly advanced Quality Control & Failure Prevention System.

A Quality Management System is been employed in all production processes and metallic construction works. In addition, Exel Group employs a number of welding procedures (Welding Procedures Specifications - WPS) in order to cover for the entire range of welding foils and for the various positions and thicknesses. The company also carries certified electric arc welders.

The above-mentioned constituents of the company's Quality Management System are necessary in order to ensure compliance with the highest standards of production.

 

Research and Development
Exel Group relies on innovation and invests heavily on R&D for the design of new products and the improvement of existing ones. The activities of the R&D department are focused on:

  • the improvement and modernization of the company's production equipment
  • the design and manufacture of equipment and production units
  • the design and manufacture of rollers for the production of pipes, hollow sections and profiles
  • the design and manufacture of moulds for the production of irrigation accessories
  • the qualitative optimization of the manufactured products
  • the design and production of novel products, in both the steel and solar divisions
  • the design, model construction and manufacture of innovative products in cooperation with leading foreign firms

With its investment in R&D, Exel Group has managed to dominate the Greek market, while it has successfully entered foreign demanding markets, mainly in Western Europe.
